It was good, everything as expected on the Maine coast fresh lobster and clams. Although not a huge fan of clams, being fresh is so critical. We loved old orchard as well, and would definitely entertain a trip back this way we came during the week so many other options were closed, not disappointed one bit.

We were staying in OOB for the weekend, in Maine for the first time. We didn't realize how quiet OOB gets once the warm weather leaves. We arrived in town somewhat late and found several of the restaurants closed already. We were happy to see that The Shack was open until 10:00.
The service was great! Our waiter was attentive, cheerful, and helpful as we were newbies when it came to Lobster Rolls. I had the fried lobster roll and promised myself I wouldn't eat it all. But it was so tasty that I broke my promise.
Husband and friend had the brown butter lobster roll which they enjoyed but I think mine was the winner.
They serve margaritas and beer. I'm not sure what else as that was all were were interested in. But I imagine they have a full bar. We ate "outside" which is enclosed with a clear sheeting and included heat lamps so we didn't suffer a bit. -

The Shack is probably rated high based on other options nearby. We found the service to be good. The food was average. The portion size was rather small for the price. We liked sitting upstairs on the picnic benches.
Overall, it didnt hit our expectations. Nothing was wrong with our order and nothing was to brag about either. I think in general this area caters to the tourist. -

The Shack was located directly across from our motel and seemed to have something for everyone on their menu, so we decided to give it a shot. It was unfortunately a little cold and windy while we were there so we didn't sit up on the deck, but they have a nice little covered area outside which was nice. My boyfriend and I shared the fish tacos, buffalo wings and fries- We couldn't finish it all, their portions are huge! We both loved the tacos, they were very fresh and flavorful and the wings were pretty good- I prefer ones that aren't breaded but they were still nice and crispy. The fries were thick cut and pillowy soft on the inside. My mom ordered the whole belly clam basket and she couldn't even finish all her clams, it was that big! The prices were decent except I thought the fries were a little expensive. They were $8 for a side and while there was a lot.. they're just plain fries. I had seen The Shack on some Food Network show once, highlighting the tempura fried lobster roll which was cool and I'm glad we went there!

This is probably the best choice if eating dinner here that I have seen. I enjoyed my Lobster Bake and Bissell Brothers Substance IPA beer. The cole slaw had very little dressing on it and one piece of the corn was a very young end piece and it is not very filling, so I would recommend buying an appetizer as well. Overall, it tastes real good.
